He completed a Bachelor of Fisheries Science in 1983 and a Master of Science in Fisheries Biology and Genetics in 2006 from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2014. Dr. Ashraf UddinAhmmed started his professional life as an Upazila Fisheries Officer in BCS(Fisheries) cadre on 1st April 1987 and retired on 29 January 2018 as a District Fisheries Officer. Ashraf is a life Member of the Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh and Senior Vice president of the Agriculturists Forum of Bangladesh. Dr. Ashraf visited Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Saidi Arabia, and India. He was also involved in the management of a number of sociocultural organizations for over 40 years.
